Do employees need a medical exam?
Most group life plans require no individual medical exam up to the plan's Free Cover Limit. Only sums above that limit need health declaration.
Does it cover death from illness, or only accidents?
Group life covers death from any cause — illness and accident — plus total permanent disability. Accidental death & dismemberment (ADD) is an optional add-on rider.
Can the sum assured be a multiple of salary?
Yes. Common structures are 12×, 24×, or 36× monthly salary, or a flat sum for the whole team — whichever fits your benefits policy.
Is the premium deductible for company tax?
Yes. Group life premiums are an employee benefit deductible for corporate income tax under the rules. Consult your accountant for booking.
What happens when an employee resigns?
That employee's cover ends when removed from the policy, and premium adjusts to the remaining headcount. Some plans let the leaver convert to an individual policy.
